30 years at Rudolf-Diesel-Ring in Bad Neustadt

Corporate, 22. July 2024

Bad Neustadt an der Saale has been our headquarters since our company was founded. When Geis grew dynamically and the previous locations in and around Bad Neustadt became too small, we moved into a new, state-of-the-art facility on Rudolf-Diesel-Ring in 1994. This is where we celebrated our 30th anniversary together with our employees and their families.

With reunification, Bad Neustadt moved to the center of Germany, which triggered an enormous growth spurt. On October 7, 1994, we ceremoniously opened our new terminal on a 50,000 square meter site on Rudolf-Diesel-Ring. The invited guests marveled at progress at its finest: at our new headquarters, a handling facility with an underfloor conveyor chain and 50 gates had been built, as well as a high-bay warehouse with space for 12,000 pallets and a separate logistics and packaging area with the appropriate technology.

At first, the facility on the so-called Affenberg seemed huge, but just four years later it had to be extended again: In July 1998, an extension increased the handling area to 7,200 square meters. Further new buildings, extensions and modernizations followed as the company grew.

Fit for the future

The head office has been spruced up again for its 30th birthday. Extensive renovations have modernized the building complex. In addition to creating more attractive working environments, the focus was on sustainability. For example, the operation of the plant and the charging stations for electric vehicles are powered by green electricity - from our first photovoltaic system, which recently went into operation on the roofs of the Bad Neustadt terminals. New green spaces have also been created.

We now employ around 650 people on site. We are fit for the future - further growth is planned!

A celebration for the family

30 years - naturally, the Geis family business celebrated this in style: On July 21, a big family party was held at Rudolf-Diesel-Ring for all employees at the site and their families. The program included tours of the site, activities such as a bouncy castle and face painting for the little ones, as well as a photo box and table football. Various treats and music from the DJ rounded off a successful day.
