Geis has joined WACO

Corporate, Air + Sea Services, 15. October 2025

We are delighted to announce that we have become a member of the WACO air and sea freight network. As one of only two German partners, this move will strengthen our international presence in the field of air and sea services. This achievement comes just a few months after the realignment of our business division under the leadership of Klaus Hrazdira.

Strong community in a global network

The WACO System (World Air Cargo Organisation) is the world's leading network of independent logistics service providers. It brings together 121 member companies in 118 countries, spanning over 400 locations and employing more than 21,000 experts. Together, the partners handle over 1.85 million shipments, weighing more than one million tonnes, each year, and generate sales of over 3.4 billion euros.

Our admission to the network was based on a thorough evaluation by WACO. The decisive factors were our international orientation, strong performance in recent years and proven handling quality. Our many years of experience in successful collaborations, such as IDS in the general cargo sector, also worked in our favour.

Another step in our Air + Sea strategy

Becoming a member of WACO is an important step in the further development of our Air + Sea Services. It fits seamlessly into the restructuring of the division that was completed in April 2025 and implemented alongside Klaus Hrazdira's Europe-wide responsibility for the Geis Group's Air + Sea Services.

WACO membership is the ideal complement to our strategic realignment. The international network offers us excellent opportunities to provide our customers worldwide with even better logistics solutions, while also benefiting from proven digital platforms and processes, says Klaus Hrazdira.

Added value for our customers

Through the WACO partnership, we benefit from state-of-the-art digital solutions, such as a global track-and-trace system and efficient data exchange platforms. We also gain access to preferred carrier programmes.

This strengthens our commitment to providing first-class logistics solutions to our customers across national borders. Together with a strong network partner, we can expand our international transport services in a targeted manner and open up new market opportunities.
