Intelligent warehouse management for Siemens Healthineers

Corporate, 10. July 2025

Another important milestone has been reached in our long-standing collaboration with Siemens Healthineers AG. Together, we are converting the logistics processes for the Magnetic Resonance division at the Erlangen-Frauenaurach site to a new, state-of-the-art warehouse management system. This implementation is part of our ongoing digitalisation strategy, enabling us to manage complex logistics processes much more efficiently.

Our successful collaboration with Siemens Healthineers began in 1997 with the takeover of numerous logistics processes at the Erlangen site. Over the years, we have continuously expanded our capacities and opened several external warehouses to meet our customers' growing requirements.

In 2007, we consolidated the entire logistics package, including factory supply, assembly, product packaging, and shipping, in our newly built logistics and technology centre in Forchheim. In 2021, we relocated these processes to Erlangen-Frauenaurach, where we now operate a cutting-edge multi-user logistics centre.

From SAP to LFS: a tailor-made solution for maximum efficiency

As early as 2023, we made the decision together with Siemens Healthineers to transition our internal logistics processes from the previous SAP-based control system to the specialised warehouse management system, LFS, from Erhardt + Partner.

The special feature? Rather than simply implementing this solution as standard software, we are adapting it individually to the specific requirements and complex processes of our customers through our central IT department. This will enable us to manage warehousing, inventory and orders even more precisely in future, while further minimising error rates and maximising transparency.

Go-live is scheduled for October

The project began in 2023 with an intensive definition phase, during which we analysed all processes in detail with Siemens Healthineers. We are currently in the programming phase, and despite the initial challenges posed by the high level of process complexity, we are right on schedule. The operational go-live is scheduled for October this year.

With this project, we are once again demonstrating our commitment to delivering innovative, bespoke solutions in partnership with our customers. We look forward to continuing to set new standards in logistics with Siemens Healthineers,

says Marco Weißensel, Managing Director.
