Road Services, Press releases, 22. February 2024

The internationally active Geis Group is planning the handover in the Road Germany division with foresight. Already in October 2023, Jörg Rotthowe was appointed second Managing Director. He will gradually take over responsibility from long-standing Managing Director Klaus Stäblein, who will retire at the end of 2025. The management duo will be supported by Peter Gayer and Uwe Schleh, who were appointed as members of the Executive Board at the beginning of the year.

Jörg Rotthowe has more than 30 years of experience in the freight forwarding and logistics industry. The forwarding agent and business economist has been a member of the Road Management Board at Geis since May 2021 and was previously responsible for Road International and Road Sales Germany. He previously held management positions at various logistics companies, including DHL Supply Chain in Hamburg and most recently as branch manager at Zufall Logistics Group for ten years. In addition to his expanded responsibilities at the head of the Road Germany division, Jörg Rotthowe has now also been appointed to the Executive Board of the Geis Group.

Klaus Stäblein and Jörg Rotthowe will share the tasks of the Road Germany management until 31 December 2024. After that, Jörg Rotthowe will become the sole Managing Director, while Klaus Stäblein will continue to manage special projects for the Geis Group until his retirement at the end of 2025. Klaus Stäblein has held various management positions at the Geis Group since 1988 and has very successfully managed the Road Germany division since 2006.

"Jörg Rotthowe is an experienced leader and has in-depth knowledge of the markets and our company. We are delighted to have found in him the ideal successor to our long-standing Managing Director Klaus Stäblein," says Jochen Geis, Managing Partner. "Through long-term succession planning and dual leadership, we are ensuring that the transition will be seamless for our customers and our employees."
